In Person Workshops and Classes

Pet CPR and First Aid (5+hr)

This 5+-hour class includes CPR techniques, first aid skills, health care, and wellness information for dogs and cats.   Does not include senior and dental care.

 PetSaver (8+hr)

This class includes everything in the First Aid and CPR class in addition to dental and senior care.

All students receive a 40-page handbook and upon successful completion of the course, a frameable certificate.

 

Bather Basics

This course is designed for the beginner to intermediate Bather.  Double, triple, and combination coat type evaluations, proper coat care, identifying matting and managing it, shed control techniques to optimize the bathing process (close-open-close), nail care, ear cleaning, and mastering the final brush-out.

Groomer Basics

Groomer Basics is a course designed for the new and upcoming groomer.  One that has been through the basics but still needs more support completing their grooms.  This class offers the basic one-length all-over body trim, the importance of manicured nails, and simple steps to set a complementary face.  We will discuss blade lengths, snap-on combs, shears, and proper tool usage.

Level Up Your Grooms

So, you've learned the basics and now you're ready to take your grooms up a notch.  Level Up Your Grooms is designed for the pet groomer who can't add much time to their grooms but wants their client to stand out from the crowd.  We will go over a few changes you can make to your groom that make your finished pet look polished.

Long Legged Terrier Pet Trim

Terriers are a breed all of their own.  With their independent, strong will combined with their unmeasurable physique, this breed is sure to challenge any groomer.  This course is designed to showcase the simplicity of setting pattern lines and creating the signature "brick" style head.

The Classic Pet Poodle Trim

Poodles are a magnificent and majestic breed, but not without their challenges.  Poodles come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, coat types, and temperaments.  There are dozens of Poodle trims and countless more varieties.  This class is designed for those who want to create a simple, yet refined clip.  We will discuss structure and balance in our pet trims, as well as creating a beautiful lamb clip that suits the low-maintenance pet parent.

Handling

Do you work with challenging dogs?  What about senior pets or pets with underlying medical conditions?  Handling Basic is set up to give you the confidence when dealing with a variety of challenging situations.  You'll learn proper safe-handling techniques to ensure both the groomer and the pet are safe.  In addition, we'll discuss tips and tricks to make the process smoother, and you'll learn when it's okay to say no and refuse a client.

Heads and Expressions

Do you struggle to groom both sides of the face the same?  Do you have trouble capturing that perfect expression?  We will work with the dog's natural facial structure to create a complementary head.   We will discuss when it’s appropriate to clipper, scissor, and use chunkers/thinners.  Learn a simple scissor-over-comb technique to polish your grooms.
